SMP 4 KUDUS AT GLANCE
The State Own Government Junior High School of 4 Kudus or SMP Negeri 4 Kudus has a long history. It has passed through so many changes from the names, buildings, achievements or principals.
At the beginning, the name of the school is not SMP Negeri 4 Kudus. It was SMP Negeri 7 Kudus. It got its operational license on November 22nd , 1985 and the day is commemorated as SMP 4 Kudus anniversary. In 1998, the name of SMP Negeri 7 Kudus changed into SLTP Negeri 4 Kudus. It ended in 2003 in which the name is changed into SMP Negeri 4 Kudus and uses the name until right now.
SMP Negeri 4 Kudus is located at Dewi Sartika Street number 14, Singocandi village, Kota District, Kudus Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. It is about 4 kilometres to the Northwest from the centre of Kudus Regency. The environment is so cozy. It is not located in the main street (regency street) but in the village street. The width of the street is about 7 metres. There is no pollution of sound or fumes. The air is so fresh as a lot of trees are planted in the school’s yard. It is so pleasing, isn’t it? The extent of the school is about 11,000 metres square.
SMP 4 Kudus has a complete infrastructure. There are 27 classrooms, 4 computer laboratories, 2 libraries, 2 mosques, 2 science laboratories, a Mathematics laboratory, a music room, a teacher room including a counselling room, a principal room, a staff room, 2 health rooms, canteens, and rest rooms. The students, teachers and staffs use a school yard for flag ceremonies, doing exercises or other activities.
SMP Negeri 4 Kudus is wellknown for its achievements. The students have recorded their achievements on archery, athletics and martial arts, such as taek kwon do and silat (a traditional Indonesian martial art). Besides, the students have shown their good performance in story telling, scouting, tilawah (reading Al Quran), teenage red cross and others. In 2019, the school is claimed by the government as Sekolah Adiwiyata Nasional, a school that cares to its beautiful and healthy environment. SMP 4 Kudus is also classified into Grade A (Very Good) with the score 94. And to those who love to compete to get the achievement, we welcome you to our school.
As other institutions, a school is also organized by a leader. From the beginning until right now, SMP Negeri 4 Kudus has 10 principals. The first principal was Mr. RM Setijono. He led the school from 1985 to 1991. Then, his leadership is kept on by Mr. Masruri Ridwan who managed the school from 1991 to 1993. Next, the principal is Mr. Tasripan who carried out the school management in 1993 to 1998. The fourth principal is Mr. Bambang Mulyanto. He was in charge of the school from 1998 to 2004. The fifth principal is Mr. Muchayat who led the school in 2004 to 2006. The next principal is Mr. Parjiyono. He led it from 2006 to 2012. The seventh principal is Mr. Syaifudin from 2012 to 2014. After that, Mr. Fahrudin led the school from 2014 to 2020. From September 2020 to May 2021, SMP Negeri 4 Kudus was led by a caretaker of principal, that is Mr. Abdul Rochim. Since May 21st 2021, the school is managed by the tenth principal, Mr. Dedi Triaprianto.
SMP Negeri 4 Kudus has a vision WASIS OPTIMAL. It is derived from bertakwa (being obedient to God Al Mighty), berprestasi (having achievement), santun (being well behaved), optimis (being optimistic) and berwawasan lingkungan (caring to the environment).
